How It Works

Eddyfi Lyft uses Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC), an advanced electromagnetic inspection technique that detects wall loss in ferromagnetic materials like carbon steel and cast iron. A controlled current creates a magnetic field that passes through cladding, insulation, or marine growth. When the current is stopped, eddy currents are generated within the material. These currents are detected by the probe, and advanced algorithms convert the signals into an average thickness measurement of the component. This process provides reliable, non-invasive, real-time imaging—even on assets that remain in service at temperatures up to 120°C (250°F).
